Title: Safety Training for Traffic and Pavement Data Collection Personnel

Survey Detail/Results: The Utah Department of Transportation is seeking responses from other state DOTs to the questions below regarding safety training for traffic and pavement field data collection personnel. The survey should be directed to your Asset Management, Traffic Data Collection, or Materials divisions or others in your agency who work with traffic and pavement field data collection. Responses are requested by November 17. Please reply to me at

2. What type of Safety Training(s) has your state DOT developed and used for personnel responsible for collecting data in the field for Traffic Counts, Pavement Skid Resistance, and Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD)? Please describe this training briefly below.

Attached are the results of our recent RAC survey on "Safety Training for Traffic and Pavement Data Collection Personnel" in an Excel spreadsheet and a PDF file with other documents provided to us. There were 23 state DOTs that responded to the survey. We appreciate all of the responses!
